Anime Zero Weapons Guide: Summons, Traits, and Potential
Treat the fighter as a full kit. Before spending Coins, spins, or rerolls, check what its moves do and what you would need to upgrade it. The best next purchase depends on whether your runs are slow, unsafe, or short on materials.

Read the summon and unlock panels
Summons are one way to add a fighter. Some fighters have their own mode requirements. An Update 5 recording shows Absolute Illusion in the summon pool, while an earlier Astral Blossom showcase shows its card in Trials Classes. Check the current reward card for its floor and party requirements before queueing.
Read the banner, spin type, and pity counter on your own summon screen. In the October 27 Update 5 recording, the four denominators displayed were 175 for Mythic, 350 for Arcane, 3,500 for LYTH, and 7,500 for Celestial. They are a historical panel reading. Check the live counter before planning a large spend.
What to upgrade first
| System | What to inspect | When it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Fighter and moves | Attack range, area, movement, and how long you are committed to a cast | Start here if enemies survive a full rotation or your attacks regularly miss packs. |
| Traits | The effect on the fighter and what your current roll already does | Reroll after you know which fighter will stay in the build. A usable roll can carry early Story. |
| Potential | The available path and its choices on the fighter you use | Compare nodes against your main obstacle. Update 5.1 introduced Potential in place of the old Skill Tree. |
| Evolution | The live requirements and what the awakening unlocks | Check the full recipe before farming. Absolute Illusion’s Update 5 panel shows its ultimate gated behind awakening. |
| Accessories | The equipped slots and what each piece adds to the build | Use the slot and its effect to choose your next gear upgrade. |
| Artifacts | Core and Support slots, the effect on each piece, and its drawback | Update 6 footage shows one Core and three Supports per fighter. Inspect the effect before using Refine on an affix. |
How to awaken a fighter and unlock its ultimate
Select the fighter you plan to keep and open Evolution. Compare its current and awakened forms. Look at the benefit beneath the requirements to see whether this evolution unlocks an ultimate. The Update 5 Absolute Illusion panel shows the ultimate as an awakening reward.
- Read each missing requirement by name and count. Check the current Evolution panel for materials, currency, and any other conditions before farming.
- Match the item name to the live reward preview for the stage and difficulty you plan to clear. Budget for the requirements you are still missing.
- After evolving, open the fighter’s move list and check that the ultimate is available. Try it in a familiar run to learn the cast time and when you can use it safely.
Build for the next fight
- For Story packs, look for a move that catches grouped enemies and leaves you ready to handle the next wave.
- For bosses, keep an attack you can reliably land during safe openings. Watch what happens when a long animation runs into the next attack.
- For team play, test how long buffs last after a swap and when teammates can use them. Astral Blossom is a recorded example of a support kit.
